Bid to overturn plaques ruling
Moves to overturn a Law Lords ruling on the issue of compensation for sufferers of an industrial lung disease have returned to the Commons. A Bill tabled by Labour backbencher Andrew Dismore (Hendon) that would recognise pleural plaques - a scarring of the lungs caused by exposure to asbestos - as a compensatable illness was brought before MPs again after a previous attempt to make it law ran out of time.
