A couple whose son suffered severe brain damage after being given the MMR vaccine have been awarded £90,000 compensation – a payout which has been heralded a “milestone” by a campaigner.
A key think tank has claimed that the UK should cut the cost of its “risk free compensation culture” and abolish civil legal aid in most cases of compensation cases.
The Government has assured people who were exposed to asbestos at work, and started legal proceedings before the right to compensation was withdrawn in 2007, that they will qualify for a payout.
