Homeowner sued for postie’s step-slip

A man is being sued by a postwoman who slipped on the step outside his house.

The Yorkshire Post reported that the postwoman is claiming for a leg injury after she slipped on householder Joe Spink's doorstep while delivering his post on a rainy day.

The postwomen's solicitor is reportedly claiming that because the steps are painted it would cause them to be slippery in wet weather, so  the household did not provide the postwoman with ‘safe passage’  in accordance with the Occupiers Liability Act.

Mr Spink, from Leeds, was unaware of the incident until he received a solicitor’s letter. He has notified his home insurers of the litigation and is hoping that it won’t raise his insurance premium.
