MoJ warns public about 'dodgy' claims companies

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has issued a warning about three unregulated claims-handling companies, thought to be avoiding regulation by being based abroad.

The MoJ Claims Management Regulation Unit has today issued a warning about three companies that may be providing claims management services without authorisation:
1. National Compensation Consumer Line,
2. Compensation Consumer Survey Line
3. Personal Injury Hotline.

They have received information that indicates that the three companies are linked.

The businesses are making unsolicited telephone cold calls to consumers promoting personal injury claims. Despite enquiries they have been unable to identify or contact the businesses. We therefore urge the public to exercise appropriate caution in respect of this business or businesses.

The MoJ are appealing for information from businesses who may have received a call, be receiving referrals from, or know a business that is receiving claims from any of these three businesses.
