Industry leaders meet government to tackle uninsured driving

The government has met up with senior insurance figures to reveal more about its plans for the introduction of Continuous Insurance Enforcement.

Post reported that a meeting took place on 4 September between the Motor Insurers' Bureau , Association of British Insurers and British Insurance Brokers' Association (ABI) with Jim Fitzpatrick MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and the Department for Transport.

Speaking to Post ABI representative Malcolm Tarling said: “The net continues to tighten on uninsured motorists. The insurance industry is determined to tackle this problem and, working with Government, we are making real progress. Reducing the level of uninsured driving will not only make our roads safer, but could reduce the insurance costs for all law-abiding motorists.”
