Description

A professional costing service for Personal Injury/Clinical Negligence solicitors

The John M Hayes Partnership, established in 1985, is now the largest firm of law costs draftsmen in the country with eleven regional locations throughout England and South Wales, each having a resident team of costs draftsmen that provides a professional service to meet every individual need.

A comprehensive costing service is provided to solicitors in private practice, legal departments of local government, financial institutions and public companies. Additionally we offer a wide range of supporting services including negotiations and attending detailed assessments anywhere in the country. Dealing with costs efficiently is critical for solicitors who themselves wish to provide a high level of service for their clients; the quality and speed of work produced by law costs draftsmen is not only a requirement of good legal practice, it is a reflection of good business practice too. The subject of costs is complex and constantly changing: The John M Hayes Partnership takes pride in keeping abreast of new developments and has the expertise to ensure the consistent application of current best practice.

Although the larger firms of solicitors employ a single or a small team of costs draftsmen, we find increasingly that as a result of the pressures now placed on them by fee earners, we are instructed to provide costing expertise at the solicitor’s firm, a service that we are very willing to undertake and which has been a determining factor in our office location strategy. The advantages for both large and small firms are obvious. The file stays with the solicitor thus minimising the risk of loss and maintaining security, on the spot costing advice is available for any matter and of course there is no ongoing employment cost.
